The FINANCIAL — Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development continues his visit to the People’s Republic of China. Giorgi Gakharia is currently holding meetings in Shanghai. Representatives of the Georgian delegation headed by Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development visited the Shanghai Free Trade Zone and held a meeting with its representatives.
The Shanghai Free Trade Zone is the largest in China and over 30 thousand local and foreign companies, including Georgian wine producers are represented there. According to Giorgi Gakharia, a working group will be created to share the experience of the Shanghai Free Trade Zone with Georgia.
“We are very interested to get more information on how this works because we have several free trade and industrial zones in Georgia. We know that China is the leader in the development of the free trade and industrial zones. In these pavilions, where we are now, there are spaces for single countries and there is a certain possibility of representing Georgian companies and Georgia here, let us say, with the support of the State Program Produce in Georgia” – Giorgi Gakharia stated.
The Minister also noted that the producers of Georgian wines, waters, agricultural or industrial products will introduce Georgian products to the local population in that Zone. “It will be much more than just introducing the new products. This Zone with its electronic, internet and in-situ facilities will serve as a platform for sales.
That is why this visit is so useful and impressive. However, we found the simplicity of communication opportunities and the simplicity of this communication, which is offered to the sellers and the buyers here, is the uppermost advantage of this Zone and we will do our best to introduce the same services in Georgia” – Giorgi Gakharia noted.
