The FINANCIAL — Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia visited Ksani Glass Container Factory.
Giorgi Kvirikashvili held meeting with the authorities of JSC Mina and viewed the ongoing manufacturing process, according to Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
“Currently 370 people are employed at the factory. The company implemented additional investment of $21 million USD last year and expanded its production. The output of products is intended not only for the Georgian market but also for most demanding markets of foreign countries. We have discussed the possible leverages by means of which we can promote creation of new jobs. We will assist the company at export markets so that not to have any barriers” – Giorgi Kvirikashvili said.
According to the information provided by representatives of JSC Mina, investment of around $60 million USD was implemented in the factory in 1998 – 2014. From which about $21million USD was invested in 2014 that gave the company an opportunity to double its capacity. The company plans to invest about €1 million in 2015. Currently the factory can produce more than 60 000 tons of various purpose glass containers. The factory is equipped with modern technologies and equipment. About 25% of the production is sold at the markets of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Italy.
