The FINANCIAL — At hypermarket Goodwill and when internet shopping customers will be able to pay by their mobile phone via MobiPay services. Customers will be able to pay for different purposes using their mobile phones. At the press conference held at Goodwill last week, Goodwill and MobiPay introduced the new accounting system.
“From 2011 internet shoppers and those at Goodwill supermarkets will be able to use the new payment system – MobiPay – meaning people will be able to conduct payments by their mobile phones. The system will make the shopping process faster and more comfortable,” said General Director of Goodwill Nugzar Maghularia.
“MobiPay helps customers to pay for shopping and utility payments as well and also deposit their mobile phone accounts. At the beginning the MobiPay system will be available only for Geocell clients”, Goodwill officials say.
“We are happy that MobiPay has chosen us as a partner and after approbation this sort of payment term will spread all around the world. Innovative method of payment is just starting in Georgia,” Maghularia said.
According to Maghularia, this innovative initiative will be very popular among Georgians and it will be a great present for their customers.
“Goodwill is one of the most innovative trade markets in Georgia and it will always offer the most innovative product to its customers. We are very excited to be a partner of the markets’ leading organizations like Goodwill, to accept MobiPay for payment in nearly all of the locations in Georgia,” said Allen Gilstrap, Chief Executive Officer and Director of the Company MobiPay.
“Not everyone has internet but everyone has a mobile phone. Everyone will be able to use the MobiPay service on their mobile phones to make payment very conveniently and securely. Georgian customers can shop from home. Time is very important. I love to go to the supermarket but sometimes I have no time. Using MobiPay saves about 2 hours and is very convenient,” Gilstrap said.
According to Gilstrap MobiPay is very excited and proud to be cooperating with Goodwill. The company thinks that Goodwill is an innovative merchant.
“Goodwill is providing the first online shopping opportunity among grocery stores in Georgia. Many people shop in Goodwill supermarkets network so we are very excited to provide MobiPay to consumers to make payments at Goodwill.” Gilstrap said.
“Using MobiPay to replace cash will be very acceptable for Georgians as they love mobile phones and we think it will be a faster and safer way for Georgians to use MobiPay. I have to remark that MobiPay is an American company and it’s an honour for us to be starting development of the network from Georgia. The head office of MobiPay is located in Georgia from which 13-14 different countries will be served,” Gilstrap told The FINANCIAL.
