The FINANCIAL — To present day Ukraine doe not have the solid system of usage and receipt of the concrete result (forecast) based on the data of satellite monitoring. At the same time, foreign countries widely use such estimations.
Ukrainian Hydrometeorological centre traditionally use statistics harvest forecast, dynamic models, but in the recent time the organization started to use the results of satellite monitoring for estimations and forecasts. The work covers two directions:
o adaptation of European system CGMS;
o development of the system of comparative monitoring of NDVI estimations from the photographs of METOCAT-8 and the data of ground-based monitoring from the network of meteorological stations.
The participants of the eighth international conference "Grain Forum & Grain Industry – 2009" (May 20-22, the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Yalta, hotel "Palmira Palace") will receive the possibility to become acquainted with the first results of the comprehensive approach to forecasting of grains and legumes harvests in Ukraine in the current year.
