The FINANCIAL — Hong Kong Airlines, the internationally-acclaimed full-service airline, celebrated its inaugural thrice-weekly direct service to Phnom Penh, Cambodia on 27 February 2016. To mark the official launch of this new route, Hong Kong Airlines held celebrations at Hong Kong International Airport and Phnom Penh International Airport.
Before departure, all passengers taking the inaugural flight were presented with a specially designed inaugural certificate and souvenirs as a gratitude to their support to Phnom Penh service. Passengers were excited about the journey ahead. Upon touching down at the destination, Phnom Penh International Airport organized a water cannon salute followed by a traditional dance performance to welcome all passengers and flight crew, according to Hong Kong Airlines.
Mr. Li Dianchun, Chief Commercial Officer of Hong Kong Airlines, said, “We are glad to see overwhelming response from travelers for the launch of Phnom Penh route. No matter for business or leisure travelers, the booming economic growth in Cambodia and distinctive tourist attractions like royal palaces are greatly attractive. With this new route, we hope to show passengers from around the world the beauty and ancient charm of Phnom Penh, and promote the connection between two cities.”
Hong Kong Airlines route network currently covers 30 cities across the Asia-Pacific region. With the launch of Phnom Penh service, the airline’s network in Asia could further be strengthened, offering a wider range of travel options to passengers.
