The FINANCIAL — Hyundai Motor Company, South Korea’s largest automaker, on March 2 announced its global sales results for February 2018, posting a total of 310,148 units sold.
Decrease in total unit sales was mainly due to the timing difference of the Lunar New Year which fell in February this year compared to January in 2017.
Sales in overseas market totaled 259,948 units, representing a decrease of 8.6 percent year-over-year, according to Hyundai Motor Company.
Sales in Korean market decreased by 5.5 percent compared to the previous year, recording 50,200 units sold.
However, strong demands continued in the company’s small- and mid-sized SUV products such as the Kona and Tucson. Hyundai Motor plans to maximize profitability by continuing SUV sales momentum with newly launched All-New Santa Fe in Korea. Launch of All–New Santa Fe in select region is on course.
