The FINANCIAL — VIENNA. The Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will start a regular meeting at the Agency's headquarters on September 13 in the Vienna International Center, the UN nuclear watchdog reported, according to RIA Novosti.
Director General Yukiya Amano will open the meeting with an introductory statement. Amano is also expected to hold a press conference on September 13.
Reports by Amano on the Implementation of the NPT Safeguards Agreement and Relevant Provisions of Security Council Resolutions in the Islamic Republic of Iran, and on the Implementation of the NPT Safeguards Agreement in the Syrian Arab Republic will be discussed.
The discussions are also to touch upon issues related to Israeli nuclear capabilities, IAEA technical cooperation programs, and the safe disposal of radioactive waste.
The meeting will be closed to the press.
