The FINANCIAL –Iberia will substantially increase its offer of seats to Johannesburg during the World Football Cup in to be held in South Africa this summer.
The additional capacity will reach 170% in June and July, and 60% in the current month of May.
"The airline launched its Madrid-Johannesburg route exactly 12 years ago today. It currently makes five return flights each week, using 260-seat Airbus A-340/300s. In June and July, there will be one flight each day, and in the middle weeks of the tournament the number will be raised to 10 per week. For most of the flights Iberia will use its largest and newest aircraft, the 342-seat A-340/600," Iberia informs.
Under code sharing with local carriers Iberia passengers can fly on from Johannesburg to three additional South African destinations: Cape Town, Durban, and Port Elizabeth.
Soccer fans can book their flights, hotels, local transportation, excursions and show tickets on http://www.iberia.com/ . They can also download their boarding passes from the website and buy vouchers to pay less for excess luggage.
In addition, tickets purchased on the Iberia website before September 30th will earn double the normal number of Iberia Plus frequent flyers points.
