The FINANCIAL — InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, is delighted to announce that Chief Executive Officer, Richard Solomons, has been awarded ‘Corporate Hotelier of the World 2015,’ by HOTELS Magazine.
Richard received the title alongside ‘Independent Hotelier of the World’ winner Hans Bruland, Vice President and General Manager, The Hay-Adams Hotel, in Washington, D.C., according to IHG.
Now in its 35th year, the ‘Corporate Hotelier of the World’ award recognizes an individual and their career and how they have defined service standards; overall operational excellence and performance; creativity in management; as well as what they have done to promote the greater good of the global hotel business.
Each year, the winners are chosen by the magazine’s global readership and the winner is interviewed for a special edition of HOTELS Magazine. Richard was highly commended for engineering IHG’s asset-light strategy and for overseeing the return of over $10.4 billion to shareholders since 2003.
