The FINANCIAL — InterContinental Hotels Group’s (IHG) Holiday Inn brand continues to grow in Spain, with the signing of Holiday Inn Madrid – Las Tablas, according to InterContinental Hotels Group.
Holiday Inn Madrid – Las Tablas due to open at the beginning of quarter three this year will operate under a franchise agreement with Gestion T3 Hotels who operate four other IHG hotels in Spain. The 133 room hotel is a conversion from an existing hotel, where a renovation project is already under way and is set to provide improved facilities for its guests, according to InterContinental Hotels Group.
Upon completion, the refurbished hotel situated in a new business district in Las Tablas is set to attract domestic and international business travellers, providing guests with a friendly and efficient service, according to InterContinental Hotels Group.
The area is fast becoming a commercial hub, and the hotel will be neighbours with the likes of Telefonica, Citigroup, Alcatel-Lucent, Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) and Philips who have also taken advantage of the district’s central location and business potential. The Ifema Madrid exhibition grounds and Barajas International Airport are 10 minutes away by car and the area is well connected to the city centre via major roads and public transport, according to InterContinental Hotels Group.

The hotel is situated in an area of important economic growth for Madrid and the Holiday Inn branding together with a very nice renovation, will put the property on the map as a contemporary, comfortable and service friendly Holiday Inn,” said Hylko Versteeg, IHG’s Director of Development for Spain.

IHG has 36 hotels (4, 594 rooms) open in Spain, 30 of which are either Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Express hotels.
The Holiday Inn brand family has grown so rapidly that it’s now the largest hotel brand in the world with over 400,000 rooms in over 100 countries. Holiday Inn hotels participate in IHG's guest loyalty programme, Priority Club Rewards, the industry's first and largest guest loyalty program with 73 million members, according to InterContinental Hotels Group.
