The FINANCIAL — According to RIA Novosti, a mission from the International Monetary Fund arrives in Ukraine on October 12 for a 12-day working visit, the Ukrainian Finance Ministry said.
"The IMF mission headed by Ceyla Pazarbasioglu will be in Ukraine between October 12 and 24. Issues of economic and financial situation in Ukraine will be discussed in the course of the planned meetings," the ministry said in a statement.
The IMF approved the $16.4 billion loan for Ukraine in November 2008.
The country has already received three tranches of $4.5 billion, $2.8 billion and $3.3 billion as part of a stabilization loan program provided by the IMF to stabilize its economy, which had been seriously hurt by the current economic meltdown.
The fourth tranche of $3.8 billion is expected to be allocated by the yearend.
