The FINANCIAL — In 2015/16 MY, the export volumes of grains and oilseeds from Ukraine will total nearly 40.4 mln tonnes, which somewhat exceeds the previous season index (39.3 mln tonnes), forecasted the Deputy Director of Sales and Purchases of grains Astarta–Kyiv Agro-industrial holding, Dmitriy Lyul’ko on February 23, during his speech at the international conference Middle East Grain Congress in the United Arab Emirates.
At the same time, in the current season Ukraine will face the reporting growth despite the expected reduction of such crops production in the country to 73.8 mln tonnes, against 74.7 mln tonnes in the season-2014/15, he stressed.
The analyst said that in 2015/16 MY, corn and wheat will become the main export positions of Ukraine, which shares will total 46% and 25% respectively.
As for the main buyers of Ukrainian corn in 2015/16 MY, D.Lyul’ko named Spain, which share of corn purchases will reach 24% of the grain total supply, as well as the Netherlands and Egypt (12% each).
In the current season, Egypt and Indonesia will become the main buyers of Ukrainian milling wheat – 27% and 16% respectively of the general foreign supplies of the grain. As for feed wheat, countries of Southeast Asia are the major importers of such grain – Thailand (27%) and South Korea (13%), the analyst added.
