The FINANCIAL — Kazakhstan plans to export 8.5 mln tonnes of grains in 2016/17 MY, including flour in grain equivalent, declared the Deputy Chairman of Board of the National Company Food Contract Corporation JSC, Sabit B. Kashkimbayev on September 8.
In terms of the forecasted grain harvest in the country, the export volumes will reach 8.5 mln tonnes of grains, including the supplies to the traditional markets in Central Asia: Afghanistan – 4.2 mln tonnes, Iran – 1.8 mln tonnes, China – nearly 500 thsd tonnes, Azerbaijan – nearly 500 thsd tonnes, Georgia – 200 thsd tonnes, Russia – nearly 900 thsd tonnes, etc., he said, according to APK-Inform.
At the same time, S.Kashkimbayev stressed that the forecasted supply and demand balances allow completely ensuring the domestic market and keeping the export potential at rather high level. Also, in the current season Food Contract Corporation extended its price band for wheat purchases depending on its quality.
