The FINANCIAL — The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus forecasted the general harvest of grains and pulses in the current year at the last year level – nearly 8.4 mln tonnes, declared Leonid Zayats, Minister of Agriculture, on August 7.
Also, the Minister noted that the public grain reserves will total nearly 1.086 mln tonnes. It is the contingency reserve, which will run for food security of the population.
According to him, the forage purposes will cover another 6.7 mln tonnes of the harvest, and the seed reserves – 750 thsd tonnes.
At the same time, Belarus will export the remaining grain volumes. But production of livestock products with high added value is the main objective in the country, in order to sell the products the best advantage, said L.Zayats, according to APK-Inform.
