The FINANCIAL — During 9 months of 2016, Kazakhstan supplied 1.6 mln tonnes of flour on foreign markets, an increase of 36.2% compared with the same period last year, reported the monitoring agency Energyprom.kz.
In particular, Kazakhstan exported 40.8% of the general flour volumes to the CIS countries (654 thsd tonnes), including 80.3% of the volumes to Uzbekistan (525 thsd tonnes). Also, Kazakhstan exported the remaining 59.2% of the general flour volumes to other countries of the world (950 thsd tonnes), including 98.7% of the volumes to Afghanistan (937.5 thsd tonnes).
In monetary value, during the first 9 months the export volumes totaled 339.8 mln USD (down 2.6%), according to APK-Inform.
According to the announcement, in the reporting period the production of flour and fine blends grew by 6.5%, to 2.9 mln tonnes. In particular, Kostanay oblast produced 798.5 thsd tonnes of flour (up 9% compared with January-September of 2015), South Kazakhstan oblast – 582 thsd tonnes (up 1.3%), Akmola oblast – 329.2 thsd tonnes (up 32.5%).
In addition, Kazakhstan produced 2.7 mln tonnes of wheat and rye-wheat fine-ground flour (up 7.8%).
