The FINANCIAL — In June 2010 sunflower seed export volumes totaled 71.3 thsd tonnes as opposed to 87.2 thsd tonnes in May 2010. At that, in June 2009 Ukraine exported 102.2 thsd tonnes of sunseeds.
According to data of the customs statistics, last month urkey (65.900 tonnes) became the largest buyer of oilseeds from Ukraine.
Thus, during ten months of 2009/10 МY Ukraine exported 343 thsd tonnes of sunflower seeds as opposed to 679 thsd tonnes compared to the export volumes of the previous season.
Besides, in June Ukraine imported 19 tonnes of sunflower against 160 tonnes in May 2010. In June 2009 Ukraine imported 28 tonnes of sunflower
Thus, since the beginning of 2009/10 МY, Ukraine has imported 6.6 thsd tonnes of the sunflower (including 6350 tonnes as seed grain) as opposed to 5.6 thsd tonnes (including 5600 tonnes as seed grain) during the same period of the 2008/09 MY.
