In May, Ukraine reduced sunflower oil exports

The FINANCIAL — According to the official statistics data, in May 2015 Ukraine exported 265 thsd tonnes of sunflower oil, a decrease of 19% compared with April 2015, and down 48% compared with May 2014.

Crude sunflower oil formed the major share of the exports – 243.2 thsd tonnes, or 96% of the general volumes exported in May 2015 (-18% for the month; -51% yoy). However, the segment of refined sunflower oil showed the negative dynamics in comparison with April 2015 only (-24%; +14%, respectively), according to APK Inform.

Thus, in the reporting period India (48%), Iran (13%) and China (5%) were the largest countries-importers of Ukrainian sunflower oil. It should be noted that in May 2014, the list of three leaders was similar, but with somewhat different distribution of sunflower oil volumes (29%, 15% and 20%, respectively).
