The FINANCIAL — In the terms of poor weather conditions, Ukraine will possibly lose up to 30% of winter crop sowings, Viktor Slauta, the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine on Agricultural issues, announced.
As of July 1, 2010, generally, 8% of winter crop sowings perished in the country throughout nearly 680 thsd ha. At the same time, Kharkiv and Poltava oblasts lost over 40% of winter wheat sowings each, Poltava oblast lost 75% of winter barley sowings, Luhansk oblast lost 48% of winter barley sowings mentioned V.Slauta.
According to him, in Ukraine 40% of winter rapeseed sowings perished.
