In the current season, the export potential of Kazakh grains totals 7.5 mln tonnes

The FINANCIAL — The export potential of Kazakh grains in 2015/16 MY is estimated at 7.5 mln tonnes, declared the Vice Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ermek Kosherbaev, on December 22.

Despite rather difficult weather conditions, in the current year agrarians harvested more than 20 mln tonnes of grains in bunker weight, with the yield of 1.35 t/ha, he said, according to APK-Inform.

The Vice-Minister noted that Kazakhstan and China signed the protocol which lifts down all previous limitations for the export lots of Kazakh wheat. Moreover, the export volumes of Kazakh grains will possibly increase, in case of supplying to South-East Asia through the territory of China. Also, Kazakh companies such as Food Contract Corporation, plan to increase its presence on the Chinese market, as well as increase the shipment volumes of grains to Iran, and the Persian Gulf countries through the Iranian territory, said E.Kosherbaev.
