Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister has received the special representative of the Federal German Foreign Office

The FINANCIAL -- On 27 October 2015, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Davit Jalaghania held a meeting with Federal Foreign Office Special Representative for Eastern Europe, South Caucasus and Central Asia, Ambassador Andreas Peschke, according to MFA of Georgia.

Discussions during the meeting focused on bilateral and multilateral co-operation between Georgia and the Federal Republic of Germany, Georgia’s integration with the European and Euro-Atlantic structures, the situation in the occupied territories, Geneva International Discussions, relations with the neighbouring countries, regional security and challenges.  Davit Jalaghania thanked Ambassador Peschke for the German government’s support for Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations, sovereignty and territorial integrity emphasizing Germany’s special contribution towards the development of Georgia.

Andreas Peschke reaffirmed the German government’s firm support for Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations, as well as for its territorial integrity and underlined that Berlin is ready to further develop co-operation with Georgia in a number of areas, including trade and economy.

Davit Jalagania acquainted the German diplomat with Georgia’s official vision and position regarding the ongoing processes in the European Union’s eastern neighbours and the Middle East.

The sides expressed the hope that Georgia and Germany will actively co-operate within the framework of international organisations on the issues of mutual interest to both countries.

Andreas Peschke arrived in Tbilisi as part of his tour of the region (Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan).  He also holds meetings with State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Paata Zakareishvili and Prime Minister's Special Representative for Relations with Russia Zurab Abashidze and takes part in the International Defence and Security Forum ongoing in Tbilisi.
