The FINANCIAL — According to Dow Jones, ING Groep NV (ING) will start offering car insurance to clients of its Dutch subsidiary Postbank starting on today, the Dutch unit said March 17, without giving financial details.
A spokesman for ING added March 17 that the company is already offering car insurance in the Netherlands through a second subsidiary called Nationale Nederlanden that is active only in insurance.
ING said in May 2007 that it will merge its two main retail banking brands in the Netherlands, Postbank and ING Bank, to create a leading Dutch retail bank with a combined client base of over 8 million retail customers and 600,000 business customers.
