The FINANCIAL — The hryvnia rate rose by 5 kopecks to 8.25 UAH/USD on the interbank currency market on March 30Â after remaining unchanged on March 27.
According to currency dealers for commercial banks, the hryvnia's exchange rate fluctuated within 8.20-8.40 UAH/USD at the start of the trading, then narrowed to 8.20-8.30 UAH/USD, and settled at 8.15-8.25 UAH/USD at the end of the trading.
According to the market participants, the majority of deals were made at the rate close to 8.25 UAH/USD.
The National Bank sold dollars at 7.90 UAH/USD.
According to currency dealers for commercial banks, the NBU sold about USD 50 million.
The hryvnia rate has fallen by 3.8% from 7.95 to 8.25 UAH/USD on the interbank currency market since the start of this year.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the hryvnia fell by 57.4% from 5.05 to 7.95 UAH/USD on the interbank market in 2008.
The hryvnia fell by 0.099% from 5.0450 to 5.0500 UAH/USD on the interbank market in 2007.
