The FINANCIAL — It was the first time the international conference, regarded as a crucial forum for presenting research, networking, and sharing good practice, has been held in Wales and the event attracted delegates from all over the world, including Scandinavia and the USA.
The delegates enjoyed a true taste of Wales, with a packed programme of social events including a Welsh-themed lunch with delicacies such as bara brith and home-baked Welsh cakes, and a tour of the Celtic Manor Resort, the venue for the 2010 Ryder Cup.
Senior Lecturer Jonathan Deacon, Chair of the Conference Committee, said, "The three day event, sponsored by International Business Wales, was a huge success, with a wide range of topics, papers and presentations which covered everything from E-marketing to green issues and creativity. One of the highlights was a very lively and musical presentation about ethnic marketing, involving hats, coats and reggae!
We are justly proud of what we do here at Newport Business School in terms of research output, innovative ideas, and, of course, our wide range of courses. It’s one of the reasons we were so keen to host the conference and show the world what we have to offer" he added.
