The FINANCIAL — On June 10, 2016, the Awarding Ceremony of Dr. Günter Geyer (the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of VIG) Prize for Social Conscience will be held at Holiday Inn Hotel, Tbilisi, Georgia. Insurance company IRAO – member of the Vienna Insurance Group – was announced as the Second Prize Winner of the year 2015.
During last three years, in the frames of corporate social responsibility, IRAO dedicated its Social Active Day project, initiated by VIG among Group companies – to children suffering from heaviest types of cancer, particularly children under the care of Monk Andrew Foundation in Georgia.
Dr. Martin Simhandl, the Member of the Management Board of VIG (CFO), Mr. Walter Leonhartsberger-Schrott, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of IRAO, together with other representatives of the VIG, will attend the Awarding Ceremony and hand the Award to Mr. Vakhtang Dekanosidze, General Manager of IRAO.
From the beginning of the corporate history that is nearly of two centuries, the Group’s tradition of social commitment goes back to its establishment. IRAO – as a member of Vienna Insurance Group, a company with social awareness, fully adheres to the values of the Group and in the frames of CSR direction, addresses its social activities to the most vulnerable human groups – children, who are struggling one of dangerous contemporary diseases – cancer.
The award sum will be directed by IRAO to Monk Andrew Foundation for building purposes of the Rehabilitation Center for children suffering from cancer.
