The FINANCIAL — The environment on J.P. Morgan's trading floor is a world away from the typical classroom setting, yet these surroundings turned into a classroom for a recent Career Day in Manhattan. The trading floor was just one area where the teenagers "job shadowed" employees, according to JPMorgan Chase & Co.
Through panel discussions, the high school freshmen had the opportunity to hear from senior leaders who talked about their jobs, how they chose their careers, and how the firm operates its business.
This was the second consecutive year where J.P. Morgan hosted students from the Promise Academy in Harlem, according to JPMorgan Chase & Co.
The experience is meant to provide students with a glimpse into finance and an appreciation of the business world.
