The FINANCIAL — JAL Group carried a total of 269,366 passengers on its international flights and 999,413 passengers domestically during the 10-day New Year vacation period in Japan between December 25, 2015 and January 3, 2016.
On International routes, passenger count increased 4.3% versus the same period last year in line with a 2.5% up in the number of available seats. Overall load factor increased 1.4 percentage points to 85.9% on the JAL Group’s international routes when compared to the same period last year, according to JAL.
The number of passengers on domestic routes increased 1.4% while seat capacity has been lowered by 3.1% compared to last year. Overall domestic load factor rose approx. 3.4 percentage points to 76.3% than previous year.
During this period, the JAL Group operated 3 chartered flights to Palau as well as 3 extra flights to Honolulu. Meanwhile, the airline also operated 4 extra flights between Tokyo (Haneda) and Sapporo (New Chitose), 2 extra flights between Tokyo (Haneda) and Okinawa (Naha), 2 extra flights between Tokyo (Haneda) and Kagoshima.
