The FINANCIAL — JAL Group carried a total of 341,459 passengers on its international flights and 1,334,177 passengers domestically during the 13-day New Year vacation period in Japan between December 22, 2016 and January 3, 2017.
On International routes, passenger count decreased 1.0% versus the same period last year in line with a 4.9% down in the number of available seats. Overall load factor increased 3.5 percentage points to 89.4% on the JAL Group’s international routes when compared to the same period last year, according to JAL.
The number of passengers on domestic routes increased 9.3% while seat capacity has been grown by 0.1% compared to last year. Overall domestic load factor rose approx. 6.6 percentage points to 78.6% than previous year.
During this period, the JAL Group operated four chartered flights from Tokyo (Narita) to Fairbanks, and one chartered flight from Narita to Palau. Meanwhile, the airline also operated totally 38 extra flights on Tokyo (Haneda) = Sapporo (New Chitose), Izumo, Fukuoka, Nagasaki, Miyazaki and Kagoshima routes.
