The FINANCIAL — JAL Group on July 3 announced international and domestic passenger traffic forecast for the Japanese summer vacation that stretches 11 days from August 10 to 20 this year.
On international routes, there are currently 287,120 passenger bookings on JAL flights during this period, up 0.1% compared to the same period in previous year, while international capacity decreased by 1.7%. This raised International booking factor 1.6 points to 89.1%.
On domestic routes, passenger bookings on JAL Group flights now stand at 1,192,829, 5.8% increased than the same period last year, while domestic capacity up by 0.8%. The overall booking factor at present is 78.3% that is 3.7 points higher than last year, according to JAL.
During this summer vacation, JAL will operate one chartered flight from Tokyo (Narita) to Honolulu, and two chartered flights from Honolulu to Narita. The airline also will operate one chartered flight from Narita to Budapest, one chartered flight from Dublin to Narita, one chartered flight from Narita to Lisbon, and one chartered flight from Praha to Narita. Additionally, 16 extra flights will be operated between Tokyo (Haneda) and Sapporo (New Chitose), between Haneda and Okinawa (Naha) and between Haneda and Nagasaki.
