The FINANCIAL — Jet Airways, India’s premier international airline will step up services on domestic routes with the introduction of four new city pairs and 19 additional frequencies as part of its winter schedule to meet the increased demand on key sectors.
In addition to this, Jet Airways will upgrade its Delhi – Mumbai – Delhi services on flights 9W 362 and 9W 361 to an Airbus A 330-200, thus becoming the only carrier to operate a wide body aircraft on this high demand domestic route.
According to Mr. Gaurang Shetty- Sr. VP Commercial, Jet Airways, “The Indian domestic sector is witnessing a robust growth in demand. The new flights and additional frequencies in our 2015 Winter Schedule will further strengthen our robust domestic network, while offering our guests additional choice and flexibility to plan their travel. We are happy to introduce the A330-200 wide body aircraft between Delhi and Mumbai to provide additional connectivity on this key route.”
New City Pairs:
Jet Airways will introduce eight new flights between four new city pairings during the winter schedule.
Effective 15th November, 2015, Jet Airways will introduce flights from Mumbai and Delhi to the eastern port city of Vishakhapatnam, which has emerged as a principal commercial centre of Andhra Pradesh. Several businesses such as heavy industries, industrial minerals, fishing and information technology are thriving in the city and its surrounding regions. Flights to/from Visakhapatnam will provide connections for guests to/from North America, Europe, London, and the Middle East over Jet Airways’ domestic hubs in Mumbai and Delhi.
Jet Airways will also launch daily flights between Srinagar and Jammu to provide better connectivity between these two key destinations in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Aircraft Upgrade:
Effective October 25, 2015 the airline will upgrade its operations on one of its high demand evening services between Delhi and Mumbai by deploying an Airbus A330-200 aircraft with a 18/236 configuration in Premiere and Economy respectively. This will enable guests on this route to experience the cabin comfort on the state-of-the-art wide body aircraft, with a flat-bed in Premiere and ergonomically designed seats in Economy.
New Frequencies:
In the winter schedule Jet Airways will introduce a tenth daily frequency between Bengaluru and Delhi while commencing a eleventh daily service from Mumbai to the Garden City. Connectivity between Bengaluru and Hyderabad is being further enhanced with the introduction of a third daily service. Services between Bengaluru to Mangaluru are being increased to six frequencies a day.
Guests travelling between Mumbai and Jaipur will now have the option to choose from three daily frequencies.
On the high demand Delhi-Mumbai sector, Jet Airways is introducing its sixteenth daily frequency to cater to growing demand. Additionally, there will be a third daily late evening service from Delhi to Ahmedabad, and a second service from Delhi to Varanasi is also being introduced.
Effective November 15th, 2015, the route between Delhi and Hyderabad will have a fourth daily frequency. Similarly, the airline will operate a second frequency between Bengaluru and Goa, six days a week, effective 30th November, 2015.
Late Night / early morning flights:
Jet Airways will further enhance its early morning connections by introducing a new flight between Chennai and Kolkata and adding a frequency between Chennai and Mumbai. Jet Airways had taken the lead in launching these flights on key domestic routes to cater to the evolving demand for flight connections during non-peak hours. With these new flights, Jet Airways will now operate 11 early morning flights per day across its domestic network.
In addition to this, Jet Airways will also introduce daily late night flights from Mumbai and Kolkata to Chennai.
