The FINANCIAL — One of the leading Swiss private banking groups on January 10 announced that it is significantly expanding its services for wealthy private clients in Germany.
Heiko Schlag has assumed the role of Head of Private Banking at Bank Julius Bär Europe AG and has been appointed a member of its Management Board on 1 January 2011.
Five years after establishing its regional service offering for private clients in Germany, Bank Julius Baer is now accelerating its growth in this market. At the beginning of 2011, the bank has hired 14 relationship managers with many years of experience in serving wealthy private clients, bringing its total number of staff in Germany to around 100. The new employees will strengthen its teams in Frankfurt, Hamburg and Stuttgart. New offices are being opened in Kiel and Würzburg, enabling the private bank to offer its comprehensive services to clients in these attractive economic regions and to further increase its local presence.
Heiko Schlag has joined the Management Board of the bank in Germany at the beginning of January 2011, assuming the lead of its private banking business. Schlag is a proven expert with a profound knowledge of the German market. He previously spent 19 years at HypoVereinsbank AG, where he held various positions serving the needs of private and corporate clients. Heiko Schlag, Christian E. Dubler and Dr. Gerhard Grebe sit on the Management Board of Bank Julius Bär Europe AG. Together with Alexander Jecht, they form its Extended Executive Board.
