The FINANCIAL — As of May 1, 2016, the registered carry-over stocks of grains and pulses in Kazakhstan totaled 7.635 mln tonnes (down 1.228 mln tonnes compared with the previous month), reported the Statistics Committee of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In particular, peasant and farming households stored 1.398 mln tonnes of grains.
Wheat formed the major share of the general grain stocks – 6.593 mln tonnes, including 4.915 mln tonnes of milling wheat, 285 thsd tonnes of feed wheat, and 1.392 mln tonnes of wheat for seeds, according to APK-Inform.
Also, corn stocks totaled 45.2 thsd tonnes, rice –132.9 thsd tonnes, barley – 628.3 thsd tonnes, rye – 28.2 thsd tonnes, oats – 91.8 thsd tonnes, buckwheat – 16.7 thsd tonnes, millet – 10.4 thsd tonnes, and mixture of spiked grain crops – 55.37 thsd tonnes.
