Kazakhstan exported 4.9 mln tonnes of grains

The FINANCIAL — Since the beginning of 2015/16 MY, and as of February 1, 2016, Kazakhstan exported 4.9 mln tonnes of grains, including flour in grain equivalent, an increase of 961 thsd tonnes compared with the same period last year, or up 24%, declared the Vice-Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Saparhan Omarov on February 19.

In particular, grain volumes totaled 3.3 mln tonnes, flour – nearly 1.2 mln tonnes, he said, according to APK-Inform.

The Vice-Minister reminded that in 2015, the general grain harvest (including oilseeds) totaled 18.8 mln tonnes in clean weight, up 1.5 mln tonnes compared with the previous year. In particular, the wheat production reached 13.7 mln tonnes, barley – 2.7 mln tonnes, and oilseeds – over 1.5 mln tonnes.
