The FINANCIAL — Since the beginning of 2016 and as of December 20, Kazakhstan supplied 7.9 mln tonnes of grains on foreign markets, an increase of 12% compared with the same period last year, declared the First Vice-Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kairat Aituganov.
According to K.Aituganov, the forecasts for grain exports in the current MY totals 8.5-9 mln tonnes. The general harvest of grains in the current year totaled 23.7 mln tonnes in bunker weight, up almost 4 mln tonnes compared with last year.
As a reminder, in 2016 Kazakh agrarians harvested 17.8 mln tonnes of wheat, 3.3 mln tonnes of barley, 347 thsd tonnes of oats, 63.9 thsd tonnes of millet, 502.6 thsd tonnes of rice, and 736.5 thsd tonnes of pulses and other grain crops, according to APK-Inform.
