The FINANCIAL — In 2011/12 marketing year the export potential of grains in Kazakhstan is estimated at the level of over 10 mln tonnes, declared Asylzhan Mamytbekov, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on August 22.
Previously, he reported that according to the forecast estimations, in the current year Kazakhstan will produce 18-18.9 mln tonnes of grains. Last marketing year Kazakhstan exported 5.9 mln tonnes of grains.
The Government of Kazakhstan intends to subsidize supplies of grains in the direction of the Black and Baltic Seas, informed A.Mamytbekov.
He noted that in the current year Kazakhstan will provide large-scale offer of grains, which will not always meet the demand. Taking into account the fact, the Government will stimulate grain exports in the direction of the Baltic and Black Seas, in order to balance the grain market, said A.Mamytbekov.
In addition, he noted that in the current year, the Government will partially compensate the cost of rail transportation of grains at the rate of 40 USD/t. Besides, Food Contract Corporation will actively purchase grains to the state reserves at the level of 5 mln tonnes, and withdrawn grain surpluses, which put pressure on the market.
