The FINANCIAL — KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will increase the number of flights between Amsterdam and Buenos Aires to five a week.
These flights also proceed from the Argentinian capital to Santiago de Chile, which means KLM has also increased its Buenos Aires to Santiago service with one extra weekly flight.
The new flight to Buenos Aires, which will be operated from 31 October, departs from Amsterdam on Mondays, returning to Amsterdam from Buenos Aires on Tuesdays. With five weekly direct services between the two capitals, KLM increases its seat capacity in both directions by 25%, according to KLM.
“I am very pleased that we can celebrate 70 years of service between Buenos Aires and Amsterdam with an increase in flight frequency, expanding our presence and investment in the Argentinian market. In addition, KLM has gained permission, thanks to successful negotiations between the Argentinian and Dutch governments, to begin operating daily service in the near future. This will ensure even more options for KLM passengers travelling between Amsterdam and Buenos Aires, as well as those travelling via Amsterdam to other parts of the world.” – KLM President & CEO Pieter Elbers.
KLM and Argentina
Argentina is the world’s second-largest net exporter of agricultural foodstuffs such as wheat, maize, flour and vegetable oils. Over the past six years, KLM has doubled its capacity to South American destinations. KLM also offers excellent connections from South America to China via Amsterdam. More specifically, many thousands of passengers annually travel from Argentina to Fujian province (Xiamen) in China.
