Restaurant LadoNina is located in Lado Gudiashvili Exhibition Hall in Tbilisi.
Lado and Nina are inseparable names. Renowned Georgian artist Lado Gudiasvhili and his spouse Nina lived very interesting life full of problems and success. Nina was a great love, a muse, a protector and a friend for Lado. She would defend Lado from the everyday problems and would create a special atmosphere around his art – reality that was very different from the Soviet one.
Many have admired Lado’s Artistic Studio until today. Great public figures such as John Updike, Arthur Hailey, John Priestley, Konstantine Gamsakhurdia, Boris Pasternak, Mstislav Rostropovich, Galaktion Tabidze and others have expressed their admiration about Lado’s Studio in different ways.
Visit LadoNina where the presence artworks by Lado Gudiashvili and refined taste of Georgian cuisine makes the atmosphere of the restaurant unique. Menu is changed seasonally, you can find traditional georgian dishes like Khachapuri, Kharcho, Chikhirtma but also enjoy culinary experience with modern twist.
Lado Gudiashvili (1896-1980) was a 20th century Georgian painter, probably the most popular Georgian artist during the soviet times. Born in Tiflis into a family of a railroad employee. He studied in the Tbilisi School of sculpture and fine art (1910-1914), and later in Ronson’s private academy in Paris (1919-1926). For a while, Gudiashvili belonged to a group of Georgian poets called “The Blue Horns” (1914-1918), who were trying to connect organically the Georgian national flavor with the creative structure of French symbolism. In Paris, he was a constant customer of the famous “La Ruche,” a colony of painters where he met I. Zuloaga, Amedeo Modigliani, Natalia Goncharova, and Mikhail Larionov. Gudiashvili’s work was greatly influenced by Niko Pirosmanashvili.

LadoNina must visit place for everyone
I have been to many restaurants around the world, but Ladonina is exceptional. At first we could not believe that art works hanging in the restaurant were original. Small and quite place you can feel ambience of the painter who was said to be great person besides painter. Restraurant is run by his Family which gives additional benefit , if you get the chance to meet his family members to get small unknown stories you will be lucky. Even the story behind the name Lado Nina is so touching. And the food…even in Tbilisi there are many restaurants they serve very tasty food. You can have some traditional dishes like khachapuri but if you are tired with georgian cuisine you can have fresh salmon salad or grilled seabass in butter sauce which was amazing…Hope to visit it again before leaving. huge recomendation
Great place in the heart of Tbilisi
