The FINANCIAL — Lavazza teams up with Catalyst Retail to roll out Lavazza Espression café concept
As Caterer and Hotelkeeper reported, Lavazza UK has announced a partnership with Catalyst Retail to roll out its Lavazza Espression café concept across the UK and Ireland.
Following the launch of its original Lavazza Espression café in Harrods, Lavazza will open the concept at the Trafford Centre, Manchester, on 1 November and then another in the new Newbury Parkway development at the end of November.
Luca Piccini, managing director of Lavazza UK, said: "Lavazza Espression offers the opportunity to enjoy a unique Italian experience that combines creativity and quality with contemporary design.
"Add to this an intensive barista training programme and a welcoming environment and the result is a landmark for aficionados of authentic Italian coffee, where consumers can find original coffee specialities and a wide range of cold drinks and fine food."
Catalyst Retail managing director Bill Stickler said: "Catalyst Retail believes Lavazza offers the brand with the strongest heritage in coffee and huge consumer awareness which, when applied to the Lavazza Espression coffee shop business model creates a compelling offer for coffee lovers.
"Catalyst Retail has secured commitment for over 50 potential sites across the UK and is keen to attract forward-thinking franchisees to be a part of the planned growth of Lavazza Espression."
Further sites are expected to include Westfield at Derby in January and Clapham, London in February 2013. Plans are also under way for sites in the new Trinity Centre in Leeds and the new retail park at Wembley.
