The FINANCIAL — An independent recruitment survey of the UK’s 100 top employers has again rated Aston University among the top 20 UK universities they turn to for graduate employment, according to Aston Business School.
For the second year running Aston University has been ranked 17th overall by the UK’s top 100 leading businesses with Apple, Goldman Sachs, Procter & Gamble, Rolls Royce and IBM among the companies surveyed by High Flyers Research.
The Graduate Market in 2012 survey includes the encouraging news that graduate vacancies are set to increase again in 2012, the third consecutive year that recruitment has risen. The report also highlights that around 36 per cent of top graduate employers expect to hire graduates who have already worked for them via placements, sandwich courses or internships. This is a record number for jobs filled by graduates with work experience, with the survey now in its 16th year.
It is further good news for Aston Graduates, following recent praise from David Willetts, Minister for universities and science, of Aston's placement year. He has called for more universities to follow Aston’s lead in offering 'sandwich courses' for undergraduates to help gain valuable work experience.
