The FINANCIAL — The TV series, ‘Rolf’s Animal Clinic’, which features the University of Liverpool’s Leahurst campus will be broadcast on Channel 5 on Tuesday, 23 October at 8pm.
‘Rolf’s Animal Clinic’, presented by broadcaster and animal lover, Rolf Harris, follows veterinary staff and students as they undertake their daily work dealing with medical emergencies and treating the injuries and diseases of a wide variety of patients – from domestic pets and farm livestock to exotic zoo animals.
The series gives an insight into the School’s specialist hospitals and skilled staff and shows the pioneering treatment of animals that have been entrusted by their owners into the care of Leahurst staff. As University of Liverpool reported, vets at the School’s Equine Hospital, Farm Animal Practice and Small Animal Hospital are on-call 24 hours a day, and see a total of approximately 28,000 patients each year.
Professor Susan Dawson, Head of the University’s School of Veterinary Science, said: “We were delighted with the opportunity to open our doors to Channel 5 and were pleased to provide an insight into both our clinical work and the fantastic learning experience we offer to our student vets.”
