Local self-government bodies are assigned a special role in the EU integration processes – Mikheil Janelidze

The FINANCIAL — Workshop entitled “Europe – Georgia’s historical choice” is held for mayros of various municipalities and their deputies at the Tbilisi municipality sakrebulo. 

The Georgian Vice Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze spoke before the mayors and deputy mayors on the progress made by Georgia on the European integration path. The Minister also highlighted the role of the self-government bodies in the EU integration procseses.

Local self-government bodies are assigned a special role in engaging citizens more actively in the EU integration processes, as well as in deepening people-to-people contacts with the European countries” – Mikheil Janelidze said.

Tbilisi Mayor Kakhi Kaladze, Sakrebulo Chairman Giorgi Tkemaladze and Director of the Information Center on NATO and EU Nino Bolkvadze delivered keynote speeches before the attending audience, according to MFA of Georgia.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Information Center on NATO and EU, through the support of the Tbilisi municipality Sakrebulo, within the framework of the Days of Europe.
