The FINANCIAL — London Business School (LBS) remains ranked among the very best business schools in the world.
LBS placed well for students securing work within three months, achieving the highest employment rate and ‘aims achieved’ of the top five ranked schools. The School continued its strong performance for the international diversity of its students and faculty.
‘Aims achieved’, which is the measure of the extent to which alumni achieve their stated goals, or reasons for undertaking an MBA, scored an impressive 89%. This was the highest figure achieved for the top five ranked schools.
François Ortalo-Magné, the School’s Dean, said: “We are proud of our long-standing ability to bring together talented people from all over the world to create a unique learning and networking environment. Our academic excellence, combined with the School’s international diversity, are at the heart of why I feel so honoured to serve this vibrant community.”
Ortalo-Magné said that he was pleased to see LBS once again secure a place within the top five of the FT MBA ranking, but stressed that the survey did not define the School, according to London Business School.
“London Business School aims to create a truly fulfilling experience for students, encouraging and enabling them to pursue their careers while finding their voices in the world.”
Every year, the FT releases a list of the top business schools in the world which offer an MBA degree. The FT’s Global MBA ranking for 2018 took data from business schools and alumni, which included average salaries. LBS achieved a $12,500 improvement from last year in the average ‘weighted salary’ of graduates, which determines an average salary for MBA holders three years after finishing. LBS recorded just under $170,000 per annum.
Gareth Howells, Executive Director, MBA & MIF, Degree Education, said LBS’s top five ranking was a testament to the unique diversity, flexibility and global nature of the school’s MBA programme.
“We pride ourselves in the MBA not conforming to the ‘one size fits all’ approach. It is flexible, rigorous and global and leverages its base in a global hub for business. Our primary focus is ensuring that our world-class, highly recommended MBA, allows our students to achieve their aims to work in a full range of sectors.”
“The international character of London remains a strong factor for LBS. It is also home to 33% of European HQs of Global Fortune 500 companies, and more than 40% of the world’s foreign equities are traded here – more than New York”.
