The FINANCIAL — The latest QS World University Rankings by Subject has put eight LSE subjects in the world’s top five, while a total of 13 LSE disciplines are ranked in the global top 10.
This is the sixth edition of QS’s international subject rankings, and the first to look at the fields of social policy and anthropology. LSE performed exceptionally well in both, being rated as second and fourth in the world respectively.
Compared to universities around the world, the School achieved the following rankings in each subject area:
Social Policy and Administration (2nd in world)
Communications and Media Studies; Politics and International Studies; Development Studies (3rd)
Accounting and Finance; Anthropology; Geography; Sociology (4th)
History (6th)
Economics and Econometrics; Law; Philosophy (7th)
Business and Management Studies (9th)
Compared to other UK universities in the ranking, LSE is assessed as the top university to study accounting and finance, media and communications, economics and social policy. Overall, all of the School’s social science-related courses are ranked among the top five in the UK.

To compile their rankings, QS evaluated over 4,000 universities and ranked 945. Over 113 million citations and attributions were analysed, and the provision of over 15,530 programs was verified.
