The FINANCIAL — The President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili has held a closed-door meeting with heads of Georgia’s diplomatic missions overseas, as a part of Ambassadorial 2017.
The parties have spoken about the important priorities in Georgia’s foreign policy – de-occupation and anti-annexation policy and those specific steps that should be taken to ensure Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
President Margvelashvili has discussed those actions that the country should take, in order Georgia’s challenges to be more actively raised on the international agenda, according to the Administration of the President of Georgia.
He has underscored the geopolitical role of Georgia and highlighted the steps to be taken towards the country’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
“Our conversation has touched upon Georgia’s relations with specific states, as well as the regional policy. Security issues and threats from the Russian Federation have been discussed in details. Specific steps have been determined to collaborate with our partners.
According to the President, Georgia has taken very important steps in terms of the non-recognition policy and we have indeed achieved a noteworthy success. The Russian Federation responds to our policy with annexation and the creeping occupation of the Georgian territories.
The parties have also discussed the ways to prevent these actions, to consolidate the international community and to adequately react not only on specific incidents, but in general, and condemn similar policies”, – stated the Advisor to the President of Georgia for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Tengiz Pkhaladze.
