“The Marriott has hosted many beautiful weddings in its history. We have been involved in this business for quite a long time. Since we organise weddings, we decided to arrange a Wedding Fare that hadn’t been organized in Georgia before. We want to underline with our exhibition the fact that we offer a total wedding ceremony package to our consumers. We can help our clients in choosing all the kinds of wedding attributes they might need. We can offer people everything starting from wedding gowns to the tastiest wedding cakes. These cakes are baked by the Marriott pastry chef,” said Elene Baratashvili, PR and Marketing Coordinator of the Marriott.
“We give the opportunity to our guests to see a specially decorated room for newlyweds. Those who arrange a wedding ceremony at the Marriott will be able to spend the night in a specially decorated room free of charge. We have already hosted many weddings over the past 10 years and some famous people have also used our service. We have had many foreign guests who have arranged a wedding ceremony at the Marriott,” Baratashvili said.
“Tariffs are charged individually. We have a total package starting from 150 GEL + 18% VAT per person. Minimum number of guests – 50 people. The couple is then issued a dinner invitation for their one year wedding anniversary. We have very flexible prices, but we will offer individual menus to our clients and prices change in this case. It depends on different clients’ demands and means,” said Medea Kobakhidze, Event Manager of the Courtyard Marriott.
According to Kobakhidze, pastry chef Temo Gigauri bakes beautiful and tasty wedding cakes. She says that with this Wedding Fair they want to stimulate Georgian society.
“We want to popularize Georgian designers with the help of our exhibition. We cooperate with many Georgian designers and foreign brand shops in order to offer our clients all kinds of wedding facilities,” Kobakhidze said.
The FINANCIAL interviewed some of the participant brands of the event and revealed the average prices of dresses, accessories and menswear.
“Our aim is to restore traditions. At first we only offered Georgian men’s traditional clothes, but recently we started offering Georgian women’s traditional dresses as well. We restored dresses with the help of museums and old photos of patterns. Georgian women have started to wear traditional clothes at their wedding and it has become a popular trend nowadays,” said Irina Alelishvili from Samoseli Pirveli.
“People usually send Georgian clothes abroad to their friends or relatives. These are beautiful dresses sewed with the natural textiles that we import from abroad. Our main designer is Ana Ninua and we also have different designers who work on sewing these beautiful dresses. Wedding dresses at Samoseli Pirveli cost about 5,000 GEL. The dresses have some handmade items on them. A man’s Chokha costs about 2,000 GEL with accessories,” Alelishvili said.
Cartier, one of the world’s most famous brands was also represented at the Marriott wedding Fair.
“Cartier doesn’t really promote itself, because it is already a famous brand and that’s the first time we have represented our brand to Georgian consumers. We presented bestseller wedding ring models at the wedding fare which cost from 2,700 GEL. We offer a traditional platinum model to couples that costs 3,500 GEL and diamond models which start from 12,000 GEL. All brides are brilliant, but a Cartier bride is exceptional,” said Tiko Dvali, Cartier Administrator.
“We offered our clients 6 dresses at the exhibition. Theses dresses are all made with different textiles and are different models. These dresses are from the 2010-2011 Spring collections. We expect to receive in the nearest future dresses from the 2012 collection. Guests who visit Pronovias have a very wide choice. Prices start from 700 EUR and go up from there. Even Catherine Middleton is going to marry Prince William in a Pronovias dress,” said Nino Gabunia, Manager of Pronovias.
The exhibition hosted accessories offered by Roberto Bravo, a brand that has become very popular in Georgia in recent times.
“Roberto Bravo has become very in demand in Georgia as well. Roberto Bravo accessories are distinguished from others. We offer people a Noah’s Ark collection, Royal Butterflies and many others. We offer wedding rings to our clients as well. We satisfy all the needs of our clients. From 500 GEL our clients can buy some beautiful Roberto Bravo products. Roberto Bravo is an exclusive, distinguished, and high class brand,” said Keti Amashukeli, PR Manager of Roberto Bravo.
“Joop is a German brand that is very popular in Europe. Joop has Pret-a-Porter clothes, classic wear and different accessories for men. The Joop chain in Georgia has existed from the year 2010. Everyone wants to look good on their wedding day and men in Georgia also try their best to look handsome for their brides on their wedding day. We offer our clients high class products with quite acceptable prices. We have discounts so the price of a suit starts from 413 GEL, shirt from 89 GEL, footwear from 180 GEL and belt from 69 GEL. We are trying to share the demand of our clients and we always take in to account even the most pretentious clients’ wishes,” said Nia Osepashvili, PR Manager of Joop.
In the entrance of the Marriott Ballroom, you would easily notice the beautiful handmade wedding invitation cards, decorated with different patterns. The FINANCIAL interviewed Lika Pirtskhalava, who creates wedding cards together with her friend and offers them to clients.
“I and my friends started creating handmade wedding cards long ago, but it’s only been a year that we seriously started doing this business. We had an opportunity to offer as many invitation cards to our clients as they would like, from just 1 to thousands. We have already served some corporate clients. What’s remarkable is that all of the details on the cards are handmade. The prices per card start from 3 GEL to 10 GEL,”Pirtskhalava said.
