The FINANCIAL — MasterCard has announced it is expanding MasterPass acceptance in Romania, by enabling the digital payments solution for the online platform of Romania’s mobile telecom leader, Orange.
The two companies are thereby continuing their long-term partnership, focused on developing and implementing the most innovative and secure technologies, with the integration of one of the most modern and efficient solutions in the digital payments landscape. At the same time, MasterCard and Orange Romania are reaffirming their joint efforts meant to promote electronic payments, as well as to broaden and diversify the array of digital payments available to consumers locally, according to MasterCard.
The enablement of MasterPass, scheduled for completion in March this year, will provide consumers with a simplified payment experience through their MasterPass digital wallets; by simply clicking or tapping the “Buy with MasterPass” checkout option, users will no longer be required to fill their address and card details when making a payment.

MasterPass is currently present in 29 countries worldwide and has recorded, in-between March and September 2015, a monthly average increase of 40%, in terms of number of transactions, thereby proving the consumers satisfactions with the product.
