The FINANCIAL — New York, NY — Luxury travel is about to get a little more Priceless – that is, if you carry a MasterCard. Beginning Jan. 1, 2015, MasterCard will expand its Luxury Hotels & Resorts Portfolio to include more than 1,000 properties for World and World Elite MasterCard cardholders to choose from, making it the largest and most diverse collection of distinctive, curated locations offered by any payment network, according to MasterCard.
MasterCard has stretched its global brand’s influence to secure the best collection of hotels and resorts available for its premium cardholders. The new Portfolio is not only bigger – but also offers more variety than ever before. Notable new properties to be added include minimalist and boutique brand favorites, such as: Karisma, Couples, Hard Rock, Dorchester, Doyle, Kempinski, Millennium and Copthorne, Morgans, Oberoi, Supranational, Viceroy and Wyndham properties. The expanded Portfolio will now have 173 properties with structured children’s programs, preferred by families.. From budget-conscious families to affluent jetsetters, the Luxury Hotels & Resorts Portfolio will have a destination to suit every taste and every wallet size.
“Our cardholders deserve nothing less than the best. We share their passion for travel and their wish to be treated special and every day we look for meaningful ways to enhance the experiences of the seasoned traveler, as well as the aspiring connoisseur,” said Diana Robino, Senior Vice President, Global Affluent Products at MasterCard. “MasterCard rigorously researches and vets providers to ensure our cardholders receive best-in-class service throughout the world. With this new selection of Luxury Hotels & Resorts Portfolio, from Dubai to Dallas, Singapore to Santiago, our brand’s incomparable reputation is well secured. More than just a room with a view, we want each World and World Elite MasterCard customer to feel they have the key to the castle,” she added.
In addition to increasing the Portfolio’s already strong mix of four and five star properties, the new locations also meet traveler demands for accommodations in the most visited cities, like London and Bangkok, which topped the list of international destinations along with Paris, Singapore and Dubai, in this year’s MasterCard Global Destination Cities Index. All the locations benefitted from a surge in travel fueled by an expanding middle class, innovations in luxury travel and rising need for business travel, according to MasterCard.
