The FINANCIAL — MAXIMALI is now offering portable wireless modems for notebook computers. The PC Card is a WiMAX modem which is designed for laptops. It is portable and free from wires. PC Card provides the opportunity to get MAXIMALI internet service everywhere within the coverage area. Customers are able to get the service in these four cities of Georgia: Tbilisi, Rustavi, Poti and Batumi.
Those who become MAXIMALI customers before March 2009 will receive special discounts on service packages. Customers of the portable internet package will pay a monthly subscription fee – GEL 60 instead of GEL 80; and they will get the PC Card for free, for temporary usage.
The clients will be served at Service Centres on 22 Metekhi Street in Tbilisi and on 38 Gamsakhurdia Avenue in Batumi. As for Rustavi and Poti, the clients will be served in dealers shops. MAXIMALI wireless internet is based on WiMAX technology. This is portable broadband wireless internet based on IEEE 802.16e standards, operating at a frequency of 2.3 GHz. WiMAX is portable wireless broadband technology, providing fixed and nomadic wireless internet connectivity.
MAXIMALI started operation on January 18, 2008, when it sent its first WiMAX signal in Batumi. In December 2008 the company launched commercially in Tbilisi, Batumi, Rustavi and Poti.
