The FINANCIAL — In May, consumer prices rose 0.5%, reads a statement made by the State Statistics Committee.
The figure includes 0.3% increase in prices of foodstuffs and non-alcoholic beverages; 0.1% increase in prices of housing and public utility services; prices of health care services went up 0.9%, and transport tariffs rose 1.1%.
The inflation rate was 7.4% for January-May.
If compared with May 2008, inflation rose by 14.7%.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, consumer prices rose 0.9% in April.
Over 2008, consumer prices rose by 22.3%.
In 2007 inflation was 16.6% and 11.6% in 2006.
The Cabinet of Ministers forecasts 9.5% inflation for 2009.
