The FINANCIAL — Russia's President Dmitry Medvedev has arrived in Ukraine on a two-day official visit.
Medvedev's airplane has landed at the Boryspil international airport.
Medvedev will meet with President Viktor Yanukovych on May 17.
Yanukovych and Medvedev will participate in the ceremonial laying of wreaths at the grave of the Unknown Soldier and a ceremony honoring the memories of the victims of famine in Ukraine near the memorial to famine victims.
Yanukovych and Medvedev will also chair a meeting of the Ukrainian-Russian intergovernmental commission.
Medvedev will address students at Kyiv's Taras Shevchenko National University and attend a Ukrainian-Russian business forum on May 18.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Ukraine and Russia are expected to reach agreement on demarcation of borders, an agreement on cooperation in the area of satellite communication, an agreement on deepening scientific and educational cooperation in the period of 2010-2012, an agreement on cultural cooperation in the period of 2010-2014, and an agreement on cooperation between the Ukrainian export-Import Bank (Ukreximbank) and VTB Bank (Russia) during the visit.
Medvedev also intends to discuss the issue of merging the Naftohaz Ukrainy national joint-stock company and the Gazprom gas monopoly (Russia) during his meeting with Yanukovych.
