The FINANCIAL — Melbourne Airport is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Lyell Strambi to the position of Managing Director and CEO of Australia Pacific Airports Corporation (APAC), the owner and operator of Melbourne and Launceston airports.
Mr Strambi was previously the CEO of Qantas Domestic, after joining the airline as Group Executive Operations. Previously Mr Strambi was based in London as Chief Operating Officer of Virgin Atlantic Airways. He commenced his career with Ansett Airlines in finance and strategic planning roles before moving into operationally focused positions.
Mr Strambi’s appointment follows an extensive global search, according to Melbourne Airport.
Mr Strambi will commence with APAC on 21 September, 2015.
